Little Blog: Judith Leiber, headquarterd in New York City is preparing a line of pocketbooks at a lower price point than the company's usual offerings of crystal handbags. This particular line continues her partnership with the Disney company. Notice on the left and above, the famous Cinderella character is either coming out of or going into a curtsey.

Disney partnered with Leiber in presenting a line of jewelry and fashion accessories based on Johnny Depp's Pirates of the Caribbean movie series.

Do you know how cellphone signals travel through the air?

Did you know that while you are talking it up on your cellphone, there is a tiny microphone in the handset that converts the high and low sounds of your voice into a corresponding high and low pattern of electrical signals. You can't see it.

A microchip located inside the phone converts these signals into strings of numbers. The numbers are packed into a radio wave and beamed out from the phone’s antenna. The radio waves then travel through the air at the blazing speed of light. It searches for the nearest cellphone tower. The cellphone tower, also called a "mast", receives the signals. Those are the sticks you see all over.

The tower passes the signals on to an "exchange building", from where they are routed onward. Calls made from a cellphone to another cellphone on the same network travel to their destination by being routed to the mast nearest to the destination phone, and finally to that phone itself.

Calls made to a cellphone on a different network or a landline follow a more lengthy path. Then, they have to be routed into the main telephone network before they can reach their ultimate destination. Who'd a thunk it?

Called Bond No. 9 Swarovski Stars, the collection features three of Bond No. 9’s best-selling scents: Bryant Park, Bleecker Street and Nuits de Noho. The three fragrances are housed in 50ml bottles completely crystallised – “like a second skin” — with thousands of Swarovski crystals. Instead of the classic bottle designs, these Swarovski Stars are covered in one single hue — pink, green or blue. WOW!

May 2008: Sex and the City is the summer movie most young girls are excited about. Thirty-two percent of respondents to a recent survey cited Sex and the City, which opens May 30th, as the film they are most looking forward to seeing.
